BiP protects your end-to-end encrypted backup with a QR code or a 64-digit encryption key. The only way you can access your backup is to use this code or key during the restore.
Turn on end-to-end encrypted backup:
- Open More -> Settings
- Follow the Chat Settings- Backup steps.
- Turn on the Backup BiP switch.
- Save the QR code or 64-digit key that only you can access for backup.
You won’t be able to restore your backup if you lose your BiP chats and forget your password or key. BiP can’t reset your password or restore your backup for you.
When you turn on backup, your existing chats are backed up. Automatically, the backup frequency is selected “Daily”, the backup connection “Wi-fi”. You can change these options whenever you want.
If you’re having issues during the backup;
- Hücresel veri kullanarak yedekleme yapmaya çalışıyorsanız bu işleme yetecek kadar veriniz olduğundan emin olun. Emin değilseniz mobil servis
sağlayıcınızla iletişime geçin.
- Attempt to back up on a different network. Try connecting to Wi-Fi if you’re unable to back up using mobile data
- Make sure your device has enough space to restore your chat backup.
- Make sure you have entered the QR code or key correctly so that your chats can be restored.
Turn off end-to-end encrypted backup:
- Open More -> Settings
- Follow the Chat Settings- Backup steps.
- Turn off the Backup BiP switch.
- To close your backup, enter the 64-digit key you saved earlier or scan the QR code.
When you close your BiP backup, all your existing backups are deleted. You can turn the end-to-end encrypted backup back on at any time.
Password login attempts
You have a total of ten attempts to enter your password or key correctly. If you fail to enter the password ten times in a row, you must log in to the application again in order to try again.
